Shadow Summits

We aim to organise 'shadow conferences' to coincide with major NATO Summits. This activity is inspired by The Other Economic Summit (TOES), which from 1984 to 2004 raised issues such as international debt onto the agenda of the G7 and G8 summits. At the Shadow NATO Summits our aim is to explore ways in which civil society groups and parliamentarians within the Alliance can work together more effectively to advance NATO-related security policies and actions, in line with the shared democratic and humanitarian values of its member states.

Our second Shadow Summit coincided with the NATO Summit in Lisbon in November 2010, while our third took place in Washington DC on 14-15 May 2012. Further details are shown below.
