NATO-RUSSIA/CSTO: OPERATIONALIZING PEACE

Russia and NATO are not enemies but they have not disengaged strategically on all fronts. Geopolitical currents and domestic political factors in key countries have retarded the process. How should we define the peace between NATO and Russia in all its aspects, especially military operational dispositions? Vigorous intelligence operations by all parties may be a necessary feature of the transition, even though they are viewed by some as evidence of continuing hostility.
