What is NATO’s raison d’être? Who is NATO deterring? What are the foreseeable or more likely combat engagements of NATO in the next decade? Will it fight in the “next Afghanistan”? NATO and Iran? In Palestine? NATO and the EU military forces in Africa? What is NATO’s (Europe’s) role in Central and Southern America (does the United States need help)?
