GLOBSEC 2010 - Bratislava

Date:
Mon, 09/13/2010 (All day) - Tue, 09/14/2010 (All day)

GLOBSEC conference is the leading annual high-level forum for key politicians, thinkers and opinion makers in Central Europe on foreign and security policy. Since 2005, GLOBSEC conference annually brings together around 500 political, non-governmental, corporate and intellectual leaders from both sides of the Atlantic. Its purpose is to shape the transatlantic security agenda from Central European perspective and create valuable networking possibilities. During relatively short time, the conference has build up a solid reputation and today ranks among the major European conferences in the same field.

This year’s GLOBSEC will be even more relevant. Slovakia has recently assumed the presidency of the Visegrad Group. At the same time, three new governments have been formed in Central Europe – in Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Moreover, two Central European countries will assume the EU presidency only few months later in 2011 – Hungary and later Poland. This will create a unique political dynamics in Central Europe that will allow GLOBSEC to shape the strategic debate in the region at the best possible time, when the priorities of new governments are being outlined. The ambition of GLOBSEC 2010 is thus to become the first platform for a joint meeting of foreign ministers, policy shapers and decision makers of the V4 countries.

GLOBSEC 2010 will take place in the historical building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic at Zupne namestie 12 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Information and detailed panel description are available at www.globsec.org.
